Baby Naming & Rite of Passage Ceremonies

Baby Naming, Baby Blessing, and Christening Ceremonies

New life is a joyous occasion and a reason for family and friends to get together and welcome someone new into the family. As with weddings and funerals, fewer people are looking to have a church-focused ceremony and are opting for an alternative. This means no limitations in terms of venue or content.

A celebrant-led baby naming ceremony gives you the opportunity to create a ceremony that is a joy-filled welcome to the world for your new baby. You can include readings, prayers, poetry or music of your choosing and will also give you the option to include significant people in the baby’s life such as siblings and grandparents in the ceremony. An individually designed commitment ceremony bonds your baby with their guide parents/mentors for life.

Adoption Ceremony:

An adoption ceremony is a suitable way of welcoming a new member into your family. If you have adopted a baby or an older child, there are beautiful ceremonial options. Your ceremony can be simple, sincere and more traditional to include grandparents, siblings and mentors.

Coming of Age Ceremony:

Rite of Passage:

Within a more secular society, you may desire to mark your child’s transition to the age of reason or adulthood in a significant way but may not want a religious ceremony. With a celebrant, we can create a unique ceremony to mark these important milestones.

As with all ceremonies, I will meet you in advance to discuss your individual wishes and decide the tone and content of the ceremony. I will have a copy of the ceremony ready for your approval in advance.
